The first album by the band is a collection of songs written by SirJo in the past 15 years. The beauty of this record lies in the variety of styles presented here, from Funk riffs to heavy Electro-Rock anthems, passing through classic Motown Soul, modern R&B and great ballads: add some instrumental excursions in the jazz world and you have a record that in its 13 tracks will take you through a lot differents moods, places and times.
What all these songs have in common are the unique vocal and writing style of SirJo and the sound of the great band he put together to create this soulful project.

The blend of so many tasty flavours makes this album a remarkable piece of work: the diary of a journey made of songs that were just waiting to blossom and take their final shape.
These songs, with their powerful and beautiful melodies, will stay in your mind and ears, while the lyrics are simple and direct, often emphasizing the chance of a positive change of direction at any given moment of everybody’s life.

So…why did it take so long??? In these 15 years Sirjo toured and performed with a lot of different artists in a great variety of styles, from New Orleans’ bluesmen to Memphis’ Soul stars, from Jamaican Reggae to sultry songwriters and instrumental-rock-guitar-driven-odd-meters-extravaganza(and everything in beetween) and all those experiences got out in the air in the form of songs he put aside for a future project: here it is.

The album title, As it used 2B, comes from the awareness that, using these songs as a departure point, Founda(c)tion is already moving forward: this record is the beginning of a journey that, while keeping a focus on great melodies and grooves, is already takin’ exciting new directions.

Il primo album della band è una raccolta di canzoni scritte da SirJo (aka Sergio Cocchi) negli ultimi 15 anni. La bellezza di questo disco risiede nella varietà di stili che vi si trovano, da riff Funk a Heavy-Electro-Rock, passando attraverso classico Soul in stile Motown, moderno R&B e grandi ballad: se a questo aggiungiamo incursioni strumentali di matrice jazz si ottiene un disco che durante le sue 13 tracce vi porterà in differenti atmosfere, viaggiando attraverso molti luoghi e tempi .

Quello che queste canzoni hanno in comune è lo stile compositivo e la voce unica di SirJo ed il sound della magnifica band che ha creato questo progetto.

La perfetta amalgama di tanti diversi elementi rendono quest’album veramente unico: il diario di un viaggio, la chiusura di un ciclo musicale e di vita che è punto di arrivo e di ripartenza allo stesso tempo. Queste canzoni, con le loro bellissime melodie, rimangono impresse nel cuore e nella mente, ed i testi sono semplici e diretti, storie che parlano di metamorfosi positive che portano ad un cambio di prospettiva.

Perché queste canzoni hanno dovuto aspettare così tanto per vedere la luce?? In questi 15 anni SirJo ha lavorato con tanti artisti diversi tra loro e dai diversi stili, da bluesmen di New Orleans a stelle del Soul di Memphis, dal Reggae Jamaicano alla grande canzone d’autore (e tutto ciò che vi stà in mezzo) ) e tutte queste esperienze sono maturate in forma di canzoni, messe da parte per un futuro progetto: eccolo qui.
