ENG

FEEL THE PAIN is the second chapter of The Songbook Chronicles EP3 – Connecting: it’s a Funk Pop track, with bass, drums, wha guitar and upright piano laying down the groove and synths playing a middle instrumental part that is Zappa-inspired.
Should I fully Feel the pain or try to run away from it somehow? I know: “You can run to the jungle but you can’t hide…can’t run away from the fire!” (Mother’s Finest docet). How hard it is to stand that pain, to go through it! But I believe that is THE way, together with a super high dosage of perceived beauty, which can be found anywhere, anytime.

ITA

lyrics

FEEL THE PAIN (SirJo Cocchi)

I feel the pain
although I know there is nothing,
nothing to loose or gain
I feel the pain
although I know there is nothing,
nothing to loose or gain

"You take advantage of what you are
in order to score what you need!
But she doesn't really love you , it's only her sensitivity."
It kind of touched me when I heard this,
eventually I understood,
he was just in love with her,
he only spoke the best he could

I feel the pain
although I know there is nothing,
nothing to loose or gain
I feel the pain
although I know there is nothing,
nothing to loose or gain

I lost many friends and families
to the same disease
they say there ain't no cure yet
still they're using these
weapons of cell destruction
sometimes they can heal,
but it's like looking at a tv screen
pretending all is real

I use sorrow as gasoline
transmute it into self esteem
the line is blurred between right and wrong
there may be no need for another song
though reality may all be fake
and we are not only what we make
I love this world for all that it is
I really ain't got nobody to please

Hit me band please one time
Hit me with your love twice
Hit me three times y'all
Give it to me one more time
Give it to me one more time

I feel the pain
although I know there is nothing,
nothing to loose or gain
I feel the pain
although I know there is nothing,
nothing to loose or gain

SirJo Cocchi Milano, Italy

I'm a singer-songwriter, atypical keyboardist and producer, I'm based in Milan, Italy and my sound is a SoulFunkPop trip where I mix modern and vintage. I started singing as a kid and developed a vertical, grooving approach to the keyboard also because I was born with dysmelia in my left hand. The Songbook Chronicles is my current project, a series of 6 interconnected thematic EPs. ... more
