WINTER is the fourth chapter of The Songbook Chronicles EP5 – Surrendering. Thinking of Winter one can imagine the outside world being covered in snow and silence, or the inside of a warm home with a cozy fireplace. But Winter can also be a season of the heart, when we fear facing life or we just prefer surrounding ourselves with what we know instead of diving in situation we are not familiar with.
“When I listened to the rhythm track we recorded I realized that my upright piano, where this song was written, and the string orchestra were essential to tell the story. I downloaded this song from the ether more than ten years ago, but for some reason I had to wait all this time to release it. To finally put it out there is like closing a circle and a season, my own personal Winter.” SirJo

WINTER (inverno) è il quarto capitolo di The Songbook Chronicles EP5 – Surrendering. Pensando all’inverno si può immaginare il mondo esterno coperto di neve e silenzio, oppure l’interno di una casa calda con un accogliente caminetto. Ma l'inverno può essere anche una stagione del cuore, in cui abbiamo paura di affrontare la vita o semplicemente preferiamo circondarci di ciò che conosciamo invece di tuffarci in situazioni con cui nin abbiamo familiarità.
“Quando ho ascoltato la ritmica che abbiamo registrato mi sono reso conto che il mio pianoforte verticale, su cui è stata scritta questa canzone, e l’orchestra d’archi erano essenziali per raccontare la storia. Ho scaricato questa canzone dall'etere più di dieci anni fa, ma per qualche motivo ho dovuto aspettare tutto questo tempo per pubblicarla. Farla uscire, finalmente, è come chiudere un cerchio e una stagione, il mio personale Inverno.”
