NO CLOUDS NO SHOW (S. Cocchi) Life may have been clouds and heavy rain It has swallowed the joy And spat it out as pain Hands have been trembling and bells have been ringing Doubts enveloping every song that I’ve been singing And now I can clearly remember When you told me not so long ago When there’s no clouds at the end of the day Sundown ain’t no, sunsdown ain’t no show Many a time I have read and heard Bliss is what to seek for Like mealworms to the bird Cloud nine is alive It floats and it moves I try to hold on to it but nothing really improves And now I can clearly remember When you told me not so long ago When there’s no clouds at the end of the day Sundown ain’t no, sunsdown ain’t no show Misgiving is certain I thought I was control The flea in me was leaping yeah While the rabbit stayed in the hole But reality is misty Like her eyes staring at Orion In a blink of an eye The flea turns into a lion And now I can clearly remember When you told me not so long ago When there’s no clouds at the end of the day Sundown ain’t no show

I THOUGHT I’D MISS YOU (S. Cocchi) Are you ready? We’re never ready! I never felt this way before you know Maybe it might have happened once or twice I’ve been surfing all these wave s In an up and down world I have swum in fire and I have dug the ice Scars on our skin, wounds in our mind We fear there is no way they may be healed Walking through the peaks we can’t see the top The fog is so thick like our fate, sealed A big storm is on it’s way Better find a shelter or a breakaway The wind is so strong that we can hardly move How about just standing still Is there anything that we gotta prove? They say the sun will come to shine We know double rainbows may appear after the rain And all the gurus say that we should let it go But when there’s something in our mind That we want to leave behind It ain’t easy to just face the void it brings I thought that you were liberating me Giving me a higher point of view But I was just clinging to the shallow vision we see When we’re giving in to all the chances we blew I wonder if I can Be a shelter in the storm for another man We’re talking way too much about peace of mind It’s a matter of what are we ready to leave behind They say the sun will come to shine We know double rainbows may appear after the rain And all the gurus say that we should let it go But when there’s something in our mind That we want to leave behind It ain’t easy to just face the void it brings Breaking away from all the past and all the shame Right here, right now, like this is where I am today Good and bad I’ll take it all I’m Moving on I’m moving on They say the sun will come to shine We know double rainbows may appear after the rain And all the gurus say that we should let it go I believe that we can transmutate the pain

DAYS LIKE THIS (S.Cocchi) There’ll be days like this When you wanna leave everything behind There’ll be days when you cherish Every single thing that you find Sometimes you don’t know why you’re getting out of bed But you do it anyway ‘cause days like these are the ones The ones that make you want to play A game that is different With rules you created yourself While the pieces of you life are all there Looking at you from the shelf You say “Thank you for what you’ve done And for watching over me” But there’ll be days like this When you just need to go And be a little lost at sea And you know you’ll feel out there on you own Like a ship that hasn’t yet found a shore But something deep inside makes you want to go on in case there is just a little more All the times when you broke yourself down Cannot get rid of them no matter where you go There’ll be days like this When you surrender to the breeze Or the heavy winds that blow And they will lead you to startling places Where you’ll encounter different kinds of faces There’ll be days like this When all the time you think you lost Makes you realize that you’re on your own Days like this When you don’t know what you’re gonna do A lump in your throat and a heartache that is piercing through Make you tougher with no bitterness Softer in a very strange way Cause it’s in days like this That you can make the haunting past fade away Ohh fade away Fade away Ohh fade away Fade away Ohh fade away Fade away There’ll be days like this There’ll be days like this There’ll be days like this

Nothing about her (SirJo Cocchi) Spring finally came flowers are here That who once was a seed became so tall And it’s sitting right here in front of me You just cannot pretend you didn’t notice When she looked your way It’s not that hard to go astray You think she just gave you a sign But you are just another fool in line She looks like a queen, she’s the prettiest you’ve seen But you know nothing about her, nothing about her And now she gets in her groove and she really knows how to move But you know nothing about her, nothing about her It’s true at times we don’t need words We’re electromagnetic fields showing our feathers like birds You feel that she could be your sliding door Even if you’ve never seen her before She looks like a queen, she’s the prettiest you’ve seen But you know nothing about her, nothing about her And now she gets in her groove and she really knows how to move But you know nothing about her, nothing about her And she’ll get in your dreams and in your unconscious stream But you know nothing about her, nothing about her Why do we need to conquer others to conquer ourselves? It’s like we never have enough we gotta prove that we can pass every test And she may not look hip, but she can take you on a wonderful trip But you know nothing about her, nothing about her And she ain’t sophisticated but you can tell she’s been underrated But you know nothing about her, nothing about her And you wish you could call her cause you’re sure you’d make her wanna holler But you know nothing about her, nothing about her

about

ENG

The Songbook Chronicles is a concept project where I’ll publish a song every 8 weeks: after a series of 4 songs a thematic Ep will be released, including those 4 songs and some alternate versions. A total of 6 Eps will be released: this EP4 is dedicated to the third theme, transmuting.

“Everything is in constant flux, from state to state, from good to bad and back again ... , only in transmutation, perpetual motion, lies truth.” Asger Jorn

This motion is in all these songs: whether it’s cloudy/clear, substance abuse/freeedom, sloth/action, lust/appreciation something during the journey happens to transform your reality and make these apparant opposites part of a wonderful whole.

Note: with my trusted musicians we recorded with the help of the most modern technologies, but basically the good old way: drums, bass and guitar in a room with me on keyboards and doing guide vocals, playing all together with the feeling that only a live studio performance can create.

about

SirJo Cocchi Milano, Italy

I'm a singer-songwriter, atypical keyboardist and producer, I'm based in Milan, Italy and my sound is a SoulFunkPop trip where I mix modern and vintage. I started singing as a kid and developed a vertical, grooving approach to the keyboard also because I was born with dysmelia in my left hand. The Songbook Chronicles is my current project, a series of 6 interconnected thematic EPs. ... more
